Beautiful and authentic early 19th-century French porcelain, belonging to the so-called Vieux Paris (Old Paris), produced during the Empire period, circa 1820–1835. It concerns a cylindrical litron coffee cup with a matching saucer, made of very fine hard porcelain. The cup is richly gilded, with a fully gilded interior, a feature that is especially common in luxury mocha and cabinet cups from Paris. The exterior is completely hand-painted around the entire surface with a continuous romantic/pastoral landscape, depicting a woman and a dog in a natural setting. The painting is refined and subtly colored, typical of high-quality Parisian ateliers from the first quarter of the 19th century. The elegant Empire handle, featuring a relief rosette and partially gilded, confirms the dating to the Empire to early Restoration period.
